Today I’m sampling Lalique White. With dominant notes of lemon leaf, tamarind, bergamot and cedar. I had sampled this some time ago, but sampling again has reminded me how good it is. This one is all about the lemon leaf, giving a green take on a citrus. This fragrance is light, airy and clean. Just below the lemon leaf I pick up and combination of the white pepper and cedar. This never becomes unpleasant as I’ve criticised other citrus/spice combinations. There’s also the note of tamarind in the mix. Now I’ll be honest that I don’t really know what tamarind smells like, but there’s definitely another note in this blend that I can’t pinpoint, but adds a little earthiness to the fragrance. This fragrance is smooth, and a great option for spring/summer. I’ll be looking out for deals for next year. Performance was average on my skin, projected well for 1-2 hours before becoming a skin scent. Longevity wise it stayed on my skin for 6-8 hours. I’d like to get my nose on Encre Noire again from the house of Lalique, it’s been a long time since I last tried it. Are there any other gems from the house?
