1-12 by Halston

Today I’m wearing 1-12 by Halston. After falling in love with Z-14 I thought I’d explore the line further with 1-12. With dominant notes of oakmoss, pine tree needles, lemon and juniper berries. I’ll start by saying that I don’t know a great deal about reformulations of this fragrance, but as it was released in 1976, I can imagine there’s been many. With oakmoss as the main note, I suspect the original formulation was something special, but I have the latest version, so that’s what my thoughts are based upon. So how does it smell? Green, green, green! It really is all about the oakmoss, pine needles and lemon. A step back in time to how men used to smell, and they smelled great! Projection isn’t quite as good as Z-14 on me, although for a cologne concentration I think it does just fine. Longevity seems just as good as Z-14 though, easily lasting 8+ hours. The scent doesn’t develop much on my skin, however linear is fine by me when it’s a great scent to start with. So are there any other gems from Halston I should check out? Or how about other 70/80s scents I should check out?
